What an amazing shoot with this gorgeous girl!  We spent a morning in studio at at one of Loudoun County's gorgeous public parks, Claude Moore. She's graduating this year, Class of 2013, and I seriously think she should consider modeling but she says that's not in her future.
 She rocked a lot of different expressions and moods.  I think this one is particularly beautiful.

 
Love her fashion sense too, that pop of pink on her wrist from Patricia Barta Jewelry is fantastic.

This knockout is a rising Dominion High School senior and one of my senior models.   I love her thick, curly hair, and her impeccable fashion sense. 



Here we're using glamour lighting -- she could be a cover girl!  The insanely beautiful jewelry she is wearing is designed by a local jewelry maker in Great Falls, Patricia Barta.

Soon it will warm up and I'll be doing senior portrait shoots all around northern Virginia!  But for now, I am still photographing seniors in the studio.   I love the control you have with studio lighting, you can get a kicker light exactly where you want it instead of trying to position a senior a certain way relative to the sun.  



This gorgeous girl has a great sense of fun and style!







But she can give you an exquisite, quiet mood as well.



She's a talented soccer player, so we needed a few soccer pictures too.

Introducing Holly, Class of 2012.   I've had the good fortune to know her for a few years -- in fact, years ago her family was one of my portfolio building families at a gorgeous park here in Loudoun County. 

Anyway, she's grown even more beautiful, both inside and out.  She's intelligent, loves soccer and music, and is very photogenic, as these pictures prove:





Yes I did glam her up a bit for this last image.   She's a very happy person with a stunning smile, but she does rock this high fashion headshot look.

For my last image, I'll share a composite print I did -- no I did not take her into rough urban streets for this shot, she's safe in my basement studio being photographed against a green screen.

LOVE this family.   I met Katie years ago when we were in Sterling Playmakers "The King and I"  together.  Then she babysat for my kids, modeled for me, and helped me organize my home and photography studio.   I photographed her senior pictures a few years ago (she's been featured on this blog many times) and recently was lucky enough to photograph her amazing family at Claude Moore park in Sterling.




That is one nuclear family, and two sets of grandparents. 



Everyone is so good natured and happy, and it all starts here, with loving, faith-filled parents.



 Having such a large family enables all of these special connections between different siblings to develop. Here are a few more:

 I suppose the casual reader of my blog could be forgiven for thinking I only photograph gorgeous high school seniors attending northern Virginia schools. But I'm a little more versatile than that! Moms often bring their children of all ages to me to photograph, but sometimes they treat themselves to a glamour portrait session to capture their beauty for posterity, or perhaps for a loved one. SENIOR STYLE | Goodhart Photography, Loudoun County Senior Pictures

I call this my "Snow White and the Huntsman" pose.  Okay so it's not snowing and this Dominion  High School senior is looking right at the camera and she's blonde and there isn't a red apple in sight, but there's a scene in the movie that has been the inspiration for my climbing onto tables and ladders to shoot from above. 

So I've been busy lately, between senior portraits and family portraits and the Broad Run High School Varsity Cheerleading squad, there hasn't been much time to actually blog.   But fortunately blog neglect is not a crime, and I can tell by the stats that people still check in from time to time, so here I am with an update.

This gorgeous girl with the auburn hair also attends Dominion High School.  She is incredibly bright, she got a perfect score on her SATs!



 And here is a Broad Run High School senior, rocking the vintage hippie chic look.



And here are the Broad Run High School varsity cheerleaders;  I recently photographed the squad and designed this awesome poster for them!



And last but not least, here is a high school senior from Langley.  I just love her exotic look.

SENIORS, SENIORS, SENIORS! | Goodhart Photography, Northern Virginia High School Senior Portrait Artist

Ah, again my neglected blog.  It is so hard to find the time in the fall to blog, when so many high school seniors and families need their portraits taken!

Anyway, sn't she just adorable?  I don't know what we are feeding kids here in Loudoun County to make them so stunning, but high school senior pictures have come a long way since I was a senior at Herndon  High School.   This particular senior is not only gorgeous, but is also an artist and an incredible dancer.


Here we are at Meadowlark Park, a wonderful photography destination any time of year.  Professional photographers must pay $20 in order to use the park, but it is well worth the money.



This beautiful, elegant girl attends Dominion High School and is a gifted musician.



  This senior (who is one of my senior models) attends Oakton High School.   She's a singer and theatrical performer, so her expressive dramatic eyes serve her well. 



She's also an avid reader, both printed books and e-books.



I'll close out with a few pictures of another senior model.  This vibrant senior is homeschooled, and is an excellent equestrian.



Since I don't have a horse portrait resized, I'll end with this portrait and use the horses in another post.
